What is Istanbulkart? Istanbulkart is a prepaid card offering a fast and secure payment option for public transport in Istanbul. A single Istanbul card is enough to use the bus, metro, ferry, tram and metrobus. It can also be used in social establishments and cafeterias in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, toilets, vending machines and partner shops.
How to get Istanbulkart by yourself? You can buy it from an electronic ticket vending machine. It costs 50 TL and you have to pay in cash. You can buy it in kiosks that sell Istanbulkart. If you are arriving at Istanbul Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport, you can go to the e-ticket vending machine at the bus level.
Istanbulkart recharge and how to use it for public transport You can recharge Istanbulkart from electronic machines. You can top up from Istanbulkart mobile app. You can top up at partner kiosks and Migros stores. To use Istanbulkart, you need to tap the card on the card reader.
